In Ahmedabad, Isabel gives an animation workshop to a group of Mehndi tattoo artists. She interviews them about her dreams: Ramia wishes to fly, Saadiya dreams of a women’s parliament, Shubhashree longs to travel to Switzerland, and Samira claims her independence through rap.

Isabel Herguera è una regista di film d’animazione laureata alla UPV di Bilbao e con studi post-laurea alla Kunstakademie di Düsseldorf. Attraverso la sua carriera accademica, ha infine ottenuto un master presso Calarts LA. Herguera è stata direttrice del Festival Animac (2003-2012) e ha coordinato la LIM di Arteleku a Donostia (2005-2014). È considerata una delle donne pioniere dell’animazione indipendente ed è anche docente di ruolo presso la Kunsthochschule für Mëdien Köln, nonché visiting professor presso il NID-Vijayawada e il CAFA-Beijing.

Isabel Herguera is an animation film director with a degree from the UPV-Bilbao and postgraduate studies at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Through her academic career, she has finally obtained a master’s degree from Calarts LA. Herguera has been the director of the Animac Festival (2003-2012) and coordinated LIM of Arteleku in Donostia (2005-2014). She is considered one of the pioneering women of independent animation and is also a tenured professor at the Kunsthochschule für Mëdien Köln, as well as a visiting professor at NID-Vijayawada and CAFA-Beijing.
